Trip to the Billings Zoo

I took several pictures at the zoo during and after Lisa's 5k.

Footprints in the snow

Orrin and I were outside to burn off some of his energy before nap time. I was walking ahead of him a little way and he walked right beside my path. I thought it was a cool picture.

Santiago Temple

I really like HDR photography. If you haven't seen any, check out http://www.smashingmagazine.com/2008/03/10/35-fantastic-hdr-pictures/ or just google HDR photography. It is a technique of taking over, under, and normally exposed pictures and combining the good parts of each to make a single photo. This one is of the Santiago Temple on a cloudy day where the sky would have normally wahsed out everything in the picture.

Photoshop

This is a picture I took of the gate that is in the previous post. I like the details of this building especially the lamp, gate, and exposed beams. This picture of the lamp looks inviting like the porch light your mom leaves on for you when you come home late. The real door isn't that way at all. It doesn't look like it's been opened for many years. It's amazing what photoshop can do.

An Afternoon Walk

This afternoon we decided to go for a walk near our house in Nunoa. Here are some of the good shots.

Orrin had a good time playing in a tunnel that is part of a playground near out house.

There are often bars on ground level windows and doors, but few are this fancy.

The gargoyles on this building were a little creepy, but I like the dragon on top of the fence. From what we are told, Nunoa used to be the nice part of Santiago. Because of that, there are many old buildings for us to take pictures of.

Just up the street from where we live is this fantastic church. We took pictures of it for probably half an hour. Here are some of the good ones I took.

A couple of day's worth of photography

The top picture is Orrin on moving day after he scattered the hangers. The others are a combination of one morning when I went out early to take pictures and an afternoon when Lisa Orrin and I went to Parque Arouco here in Santiago.

Santiago Traffic

I knew it had been a while, but I didn't know it had been that long since I'd put a picture up. Here's a picture I took from our balcony this evening. The bottom one is my favorite and Lisa likes the top one better. I like the top one better because there are more light lines and you can see the orange lights of the bus in the farthest lane in about the center of the photograph.
